Job Description

We are on an exciting journey of more sustainable plastic material in IKEA. Recycled and Renewable materials at an affordable price is a key focus area in our plastic strategy. Can you help us to develop new innovative and sustainable solutions for IKEAs future range of plastic raw material?

IKEA is aiming to be the leading company within technique and design. At IKEA we have high ambitions and we think that everything is possible!. In order to develop the next generation’s plastic raw material, we need to strengthen our organisation with skilled and experienced Development Engineers.

Assignment

Your main assignment will be to work in close collaboration with IKEA Home Furnishing Suppliers & IKEA of Sweden in projects for the development of the existing and future solutions of material for IKEA products. You will be working on developing plastic raw material solutions for various product portfolios within IKEA.

You will be driving and taking part in innovative development projects, performing material tests and securing the quality level of the raw material in your responsibility area. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining the technical documentation, and working with the standardization of the plastic material range. You will also secure (together with a production engineer) the quality compliance of the material and production processes at the raw material suppliers in accordance with IKEA specifications.

Qualifications

We are looking for an Engineer with a University Degree in Chemicals/Polymers and at least 3 years of relevant working experience within material development in recycled and renewable plastic streams. Our corporate language is English, so fluency both verbally and in writing is required.

As a person you are innovative, and you always see solutions instead of problems. Your driving force is to develop the products. In order to sell your ideas to the organization you must be open - and business minded. You are driven and have the ability to build trustful relationships.

You enjoy an agile, yet structured, way of working and achieving results together with a team in a flexible environment, but also have a strong individual drive to deliver high quality results on time. You are always curious about finding better ways of working. You are a team player who is good managing multiple stakeholders and projects at the same time. You are someone who finds energy for working in multi-cultural teams.

Additional information
