About the Project

This project, located in Boden, Sweden, is a Greenfield development, and we are looking for a Permit to Work (PTW) Lead to ensure the safe and compliant management of work activities during the construction, commissioning, and operational phases. The PTW Lead will oversee the implementation and operation of the Permit to Work system on-site, ensuring that all activities are conducted in line with safety standards and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and Lead Centralized PTW Office: Set up and manage a centralized PTW office, ensuring smooth coordination of all permitting activities across the project. Lead the development and training of a PTW coordinator team responsible for specific areas or disciplines.
• Leadership and Coordination: Supervise PTW efforts on-site, providing training, guidance, and mentorship to staff and contractors to ensure effective and consistent safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Permit Management: Oversee the issuance of permits to work for high-risk activities (e.g., confined space entry, hot work, electrical work, lifting operations) and ensure all work areas are properly prepared before issuing permits. Maintain detailed records and conduct regular audits of issued permits.
• Risk Assessment and Safety Oversight: Conduct or oversee pre-job safety assessments to ensure hazards are identified and appropriate control measures are in place. Monitor high-risk activities and work with safety officers and engineers to address any issues.
• Continuous Improvement: Investigate incidents and near misses related to PTW violations, developing corrective actions and improvement strategies based on feedback, audits, and lessons learned.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure activities comply with internal standards and relevant regulations. Update PTW documentation regularly to meet changing safety regulations or project requirements. Provide regular reports on PTW performance to senior management.
• Collaboration and Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for PTW-related queries and maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders. Work closely with other departments (construction, commissioning, maintenance) to ensure alignment of safety protocols.
