What you will do

As a Durability Test Engineer, you are reflecting the customers' eyes within the product development cycle and it is our responsibility to verify that our products fulfill our customers demands. You are responsible for gathering knowledge and insights about the durability performance of our products through rig tests and vehicle measurements. Most of the rig tests are conducted in our durability laboratory and most vehicle measurements are performed at our proving ground. You will have an active role in cross functional networks to make sure that all stakeholders area aligned and involved in the progress of the tests.

Your future team

At the Durability and Safety Testing team, we are seeking a passionate individual who are eager to make a significant impact in the development of the next generation of the Volvo trucks. You will be part of a fantastic team of 14 friendly and highly skilled engineers that will give you a warm onboarding to your new role.

Who are you?

To excel in this position, we believe you should have a genuine interest in the automotive industry and mechanical testing. You possess a curiosity to understand how things work and have a creative personality. You have a desire to learn new things and improve current processes. Additionally, we value the following qualities:

• Strong engagement and sense of ownership in your work
• Highly organized and structured way of working
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish cooperative relationships

For you to really enjoy this position, we believe that you have:

• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Several years of experience in automotive durability testing
• Experience in signal processing methods for vibration analysis
• Understanding of data acquisition systems for vehicle data collection
• Experience with MTS Flextest and RPC Pro or RPC Connect
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
