The Platform and Architecture team is looking for a new employee with passion and energy to help us to lead the development of the platform and vehicle architectures for all of Volvo Group´s brands and ranges.  

The team consists of skilled platform- and geometrical architects who study different architectural alternatives in preparation for new technologies and future needs, such as: zero emission vehicles, new emission legislations and new vehicle configurations.  

Role Description  

The Project manager – Platform & Architecture is overall accountable to lead and manage the platform and architecture development in studies, projects and programs in line with project and program needs and platform road maps. This is done by directing the platform and architectural needs to the right project and secure the right balance of product optimization and platform and architecture changes. 

Your main responsibilities will be to:  

• Lead and manage studies and projects.  
• Write and anchor platform and architectural requirements 
• Drive and manage the architectural changes in studies and projects 
• Secure modularization and interface decision in projects 
• Study alternative development and investment scenarios given needed product and platform changes and project plan

Who are we looking for?  

Someone who posseses a strong drive and energy, capable of managing and leading technical development while effectively balancing diverse perspectives. You are analytical and strategic as you will work with a complex product diversity, and you need to identify and structure complex dependencies over time. 

Your competence  

This is a senior position where the following competencies are needed: 

• Strong understanding of vehicle architecture and our vehicle platforms. 
• Solid grasp of the development process. 
• Proven experience in leading projects or studies. 
• In-depth knowledge of vehicles, including product-defining requirements and relationships at both the complete vehicle and sub-vehicle levels. 
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
