Interested in the development of new and innovative machines and technologies to deliver effective solutions to produce new and existing products? This is an exciting role for an experienced technical project manager with an interest in driving innovation.

Swedish Match is increasing their ambitions to deliver new innovative products and expand geographically, which requires gearing up development plans and operation models. As Project Manager Engineering Development you will lead a highly motivated and competent multidisciplinary team of automation engineers, development technicians and design engineers to develop cutting-edge machines, innovative technical features, and processes for future technology integration. The majority of our development is in-house but we see an increasing need of expanding our external development network to meet future needs. Your projects will cover the full lifecycle of technology development projects, from concept ideation to first machine. They also oversee the design, testing, and optimization of pilot equipment to ensure reliability, before handing over to Engineering and Operations for implementation and scaling up in our factories world-wide.

Your key responsibility is to manage the project and ensure progression vs plan, including budget, investment, resourcing, and personnel. You will communicate with internal and external customers and stakeholders on an on-going basis to review project scope.

As Project Manager Engineering Development, you will be part of our Engineering Development organization within the function Engineering. The position is based in Gothenburg with close access to one of our factories. You will reside in centrally located premises together with other functions within Engineering, Product Development & Innovation and Operations.

Your profile

We are looking for an experienced project manager with a BSc or MSc in mechanical engineering, automation or related field. You should have at least five years of experience working as a project manager for early phases of product- or machinery development, preferably within FMCG industry. Certification in IPMA, PMP or similar project management standards is an advantage. Experience from working efficiently in international cross-functional projects, navigating complex organisations is meritorious.

In this position you need to have the ability to define and execute project plans as well as being flexible and receptive to change. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders is the key to success, therefore excellence in verbal and written presentations in both English and Swedish is a must.
