EasyMining is seeking a driven Detail Engineering Manager with a passion for conserving resources and advancing the circular economy.

As we commercialize innovative technologies through chemical process plants, we need an experienced professional with a background in the process, mining, or petrochemical industries.

Our projects range from feasibility studies to detailed design, commissioning, and plant startup. We are looking for a leader to drive the detail engineering of our Ash2Phos project in southern Sweden.

Role Responsibilities

• Ensure plant systems and design meet delivery specifications, timelines, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Lead and coordinate engineering disciplines, including Process, Piping, Mechanical, Process Control, Electrical, CE, and HSE.
• Support and guide team members with clear direction and coaching.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and Project Planner to schedule engineering activities and procurements.
• Oversee equipment selection, process design evaluation, and plant layout.
• Review technical specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements, contracts, and industry standards.
• Provide progress updates, identify challenges, and forecast engineering hours and procurement needs.
• Facilitate a seamless transition from detailed engineering to construction by addressing support and coordination gaps.

Location: Gothenburg, with domestic and some international travel (primarily Northern Europe).

Personal Requirements

• Physically able to perform site visits/field work in operating chemical plants handling hazardous materials.
• Skilled in documenting progress and handling confidential information

Education & Experience

• Post-secondary engineering degree with 7+ years of experience in chemical, petrochemical, or mining industries.
• Relevant experience in detail engineering design and cross-disciplinary collaboration
• Beneficial experience includes:
• COMOS, AVEVA, or similar systems.
• Filtration processes (ashes, phosphorus, hydroxides, heavy metals).
• Vendor networks (pumps, filters, reactors, scrubbers, agitators).
• Site supervision and field installation.

Language Requirements

• Fluent in English and Swedish (required)
• German (advantageous).

Background

Recovery and recycling of nutrients such as phosphorus, nitrogen, and potassium from society back to agriculture is important for a sustainable world. Phosphorus and potassium are scarce resources in which EU is heavily dependent on virgin import from Morocco and Russia. Both the manufacturing of mineral nitrogen fertilizers, as well as the required biological methods for treating nitrogen containing wastewaters consume large amounts of energy and chemicals. In addition, the established virgin-based processes lead to emissions of greenhouse gases and ammonia, which affects the climate, eutrophication, and causes acidification in the nature.

EasyMining has several patented processes that enables recovery of clean commercial products by using waste as raw materials. Examples of our processes are phosphorus recovery from incinerated sewage sludge ashes (Ash2Phos), nitrogen recovery and energy reduction from nitrogen containing wastewaters (Project N), as well as extraction of salts from fly ash created through incineration of municipal waste (Ash2Salt)
