We lead the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility, ensuring a stepwise implementation across segments and regions. Electromobility is becoming increasingly important, and a key element of the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). In our section, we manage the entire ESS lifecycle — from advanced engineering and product development to maintenance.

What you will do

As a Battery Module Expert, you’ll be a core part of the Battery Module Design team, working in cross-functional teams from requirements and concept to design, verification, production, and aftermarket. You will act as the team’s expert in developing the mechanical components of the Battery Module.

Your work will support the development and optimization of the module design: concepts, specifications, documentation, CAD, drawings, prototyping, testing, and production transfer. You will also lead continuous improvements for existing products and during development phases. Additionally, you’ll create plans, release technical documentation, and define verification items and test conditions.

Who are you?

To succeed in this role, you are a pragmatic team player who enjoys developing system designs and components with the customer in focus. You bring deep knowledge and experience in ESS design, understanding both the building blocks of a battery pack and their impact on performance and functionality.

You are confident in leading technical solutions with suppliers and product teams. Your expertise enables you to mentor junior engineers and support their development in the battery module area. Your contribution will drive the team’s success.

We believe you have:

• Master of Science or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Extensive experience in ESS design and architecture
• Experience with battery technologies/systems in electric vehicle applications
• Excellent skills in Creo/CATIA for designing robust mechanical parts, considering cooling/heating and swelling
• Experience in mechanical component design: welded structures, castings, sheet metal, and plastic parts
• Knowledge in design for modularity
• Practical experience with FEM calculations
• Understanding of cell and battery module manufacturing

Experience with any of the following is an advantage: KOLA, PDM-link, DCN releases, PTM/MS, JIRA.
