Your role

At Saab, we are looking for leaders who bring out the best in our employees. As Head of Design, you will have a strong influence on the development and improvement of the products in our portfolio. You will lead and coach your team towards common strategic goals and operational excellence.

The Design unit has design responsibility for our service & support and new product solutions. Head of Design is responsible for several teams including but not limited to system engineering and hardware design.

Design will have around 20 employees working within areas such as system architecture, SW and HW development and integration and verification.

As Head of Design, you will have an important role within the organization to:

• Develop the Design organization together with your management team and employees to become an even more efficient and integrated part of the deliveries to our customers
• Secure an efficient product development flow with focus on speed, continuous learning and customer value
• Innovate and develop new product features
• Emphasize collaboration and embrace new ideas
• Secure that the different areas of expertise stay in the technological forefront, thru competence development, recruitment, collaboration with universities etc.
• Coordinate development together with other surface Design units.

All with the main purpose to secure efficient and timely product development, quality and customer satisfaction. You will be a part of the Surface Sensors Halmstad management team and report to the Surface Sensors Halmstad. The management team is a team where every member contributes to the success of the Product Unit by being forward leaning and solution driven.

Your profile

For this role, we are looking for someone who likes to develop and challenge themselves as well as its team members.

We also assume that you have:

• Management experience from Hardware design and/or Software development
• Genuine interest in complex technical product development and cooperation across sites
• Strong drive, collaboration skills and ability to motivate your employees
• Communicative, transparent, structured and performance driven ways of working
• Appropriate professional or postgraduate qualification in a business oriented or technical discipline

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring

security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
