Job description

If you are a creative, responsive, motivated Development engineer who enjoy being a member of a tight knit team – this might be your next challenge! In this position you will work from establishing what the clients and end users needs are, through concept development and design, test and optimization all the way through to verification, validation and production. Doing so in close collaboration with the rest of the R&D team in Sweden and Austria, clinical expertise, product management, contract manufacturer and quality functions among others.

Grab the chance to be part of the large global company group Greiner Bio-One, having your base in the Helsingborg site called Vigmed where you will join a team of around ten people. Getting the best of the two worlds in this position - having your physical location in Helsingborg, where team spirit and a great drive is noticeable, yet also getting to cooperate with the global teams in different areas. The focus for the site is catheters and this is a prioritized product area within Greiner Bio-One why several interesting projects lay ahead.

Responsibilities

You will be part of a knowledgeable and friendly team and your responsibilities will include:

Product development

·        Planning and carrying out feasibility studies, including method development and development of technical specifications

·        Initiating and handling procurement of prototypes internally and externally

·        Planning Product Verification & Validation (V&V) studies

·        Initiating patent research and applications with external service providers

Laboratory

·        Act as process owner of processes that regards the laboratory at the Helsingborg site

·        Support establishment of laboratory rules and methods and ensuring their fulfilment

·        Support global team in V&V testing and Release testing

·        Support in root cause analysis for problems identified during V&V testing or connected to complaints or production

Qualifications

To thrive and be happy as a Development engineer with Greiner Bio-One/Vigmed, we see that you bring the following experience:

• University degree in Mechanical engineering, Physics or similar
• At least five years’ professional experience within product development and/or production engineering in a strongly regulated industry, preferably medical device
• Experience in CAD-design
• Fluent in English
• Fluent verbally in Swedish, Danish or Norwegian

It will be a merit if you have years of experience working according to ISO13485 and/or ISO17025, as well as knowledge in biocompatibility studies according to ISO13485 and/or USP class VI. If you have experience in tests, verification and validation of medical devices, this will also be seen as a merit. As well as experience in working with statistics to analyze e.g. test results. A certification in Six Sigma or equivalent will also be a plus.
