Your role

As part of the Kiruna R&D team this position will fill a leading role in mineral processing with focus on comminution technologies. Daily tasks will be connected to all study phases from conceptual to operational assignments. We work interdisciplinary along the entire mining value chain, however close collaboration is especially needed towards the technical notes of process mineralogy and geometallurgy, agglomeration and pelletization and water and tailings.

You will work with both process challenges in current operations and assignments for long term development of future mines. The work also includes lab, pilot and full-scale trials, data handling and reporting, regular travel between the company sites and to external collaboration partners, conferences etc.

What you bring

You're dedicated to your work and can see the big picture. You're used to working independently and can spot logic and connections in complex information or environments. You communicate well with others and enjoy taking on big responsibilities to tackle the challenges our company faces.

As a senior research engineer/specialist in mineral processing you should have:

• A Master's degree or higher (PhD), with good work experience
• Focus area on comminution technology with experience in process simulation
• Knowledge in processing techniques in iron ore including both magnetite and hematite
• Practical experience in test work design and operation
• B driving licence, as it is a requirement for all positions within LKAB
