We are currently seeking several Mechanical Design Engineers to join us on the journey!

How you will make an impact

You will be part of the xJB and Platform Design team, which focuses on hardware design. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role, together with the team, to design and develop the next generation of High Voltage Power Distribution Units. 

As a Design Engineer, you will drive different design areas within High Voltage Power Distribution Units, including busbars, thermal interface materials, molded plastic parts and, fasteners. You will Collaborate closely with colleagues in the electromobility team and with other departments at Volvo Group and external partners/suppliers to generate innovative design ideas to enhance the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of our hardware.

Who are you? 

We are looking for innovative, solution-oriented Mechanical Design Engineers who makes decisions with confidence and sound engineering judgment. You thrive on challenges, inspire others, and are always eager to explore new approaches. To be successful in this role, you should also have:

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Physics
• Minimum of five years of experience in product design in the automotive industry    
• Technical knowledge in the Electromobility products, systems and, components     
• Skills in CAD Design (Creo meriting), 2D drawings, and tolerance stack analysis  
• Experience in the design of Power Distribution Units
• Fluency in both written and spoken English 
• Experience of busbars, fasteners, and thermal interface materials is a plus
