Electromobility is changing the automotive world, and we are now looking for you who want to be part of making this change in our industry! The Electromobility organization is a vital part of the Volvo group's ambitions to meet zero emission by 2040. The Electromobility organization is responsible for the development of our electric powertrains – from advanced engineering through product development into the maintenance phase. The function has a purpose-driven leadership and together we drive Electromobility transition based on cutting-edge engineering and state-of-the-art research. By joining us, you will be part of a global and diverse team of highly skilled professionals.  

The Project manager engineering drives the complete propulsion system technical delivery in the Electromobility organization together with the technical team. You will be responsible for projects within Electromobility and work cross functionally within the Volvo group. 

The role has a broad perspective from concept development in early phases – to the later project phases managing planning, development, and delivery until product industrialization is achieved.

This role involves managing the cross-technical project team, to ensure successful delivery according to project technical prerequisites. Effective stakeholder management and interfacing within the Volvo organization are crucial. You will present and report to various steering committees and decision forums.

You drive collaboration, engineering activities, applying a technical mindset and leadership skills. You have the ability to prioritize and focus on key areas to secure maximum customer value in a fast-changing environment. 

Your main responsibilities

You will lead the engineering deliveries from Electromobility projects and report to reference groups. You will be the bridge between the reference group and the project team, manage the projects according to the set targets and business objectives. To be successful within this position we believe that you have experience leading technical projects in the automotive sector in a global environment.

Qualifications

You possess expertise and proficiency in project management, with a project leadership background ideally gained from a large global organization, preferably within the automotive sector. Your excellent communication skills allow you to manage stakeholders at all levels. You have strong personal credibility, integrity, and creativity, along with excellent collaboration skills across the entire value chain. A product development background, preferred within electromobility products, and University degree or equivalent in experience is essential for success in this role.
