About the job

As a Chemical engineer/Chemist at Nouryon, you will support new product development and process improvements, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and protect our intellectual property.

In your future role as Chemical engineer/Chemist you will

• Provide engineering, process, and synthesis support for the development of new products, scale-up, as well as the improvement of existing products and processes.
• Perform as a member of cross-functional project teams including marketing, end-user applications, regulatory, analytical, and manufacturing functions.
• Protection of Nouryon technologies / intellectual property.
• Adhere to high laboratory practice standards and take role in continuous improvement process.
• Maintain company safety standards and live the company values.
• Be an active member in short- and long-term engineering and synthesis projects.

The position may require some travel (<10%)

We believe you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar 
• Extensive experience in relevant area
• A hands-on problem solver with excellent laboratory skills. 
• Chemical engineering and/or process chemistry knowledge. 
• Inherent safety focus.
• Laboratory experience.
• Basic understanding of organic synthesis.
• Good knowledge in English, verbal and written

Great if you have

• Experience in alkoxylation, and quaternization 
• Experience in high pressure chemistry 

Familiarity with surfactant chemistry
