Want to join us on our journey? The future is Brite!
At Brite Payments, we are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will focus on improving our platform infrastructure and work closely with various engineering teams to help them overcome challenges and adopt best practices. This position combines both platform engineering and an enabling role, ensuring operational excellence while enhancing developer experience.
You will be part of our growing Platform Engineering team, which acts as both a platform team (building foundational infrastructure) and an enabling team (supporting engineering teams to improve operational efficiency). Your focus will be slightly more on the enabling side, helping engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions faster and more reliably.
Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance their infrastructure and deployment processes, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
Improve platform tooling and automation to streamline the development lifecycle, reduce operational bottlenecks, and enable faster, more reliable deployments.
Implement and promote DevOps best practices across teams, helping developers optimize CI/CD pipelines and adopt Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Ensure reliability and uptime by developing and maintaining effective monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices.
Drive cloud infrastructure optimization within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), helping teams make the best use of GCP services while controlling costs and improving efficiency.
Enable teams with automation solutions, whether through building self-service tools, improving deployment workflows, or offering guidance on GCP resources and operational processes.
Support a culture of continuous improvement by adopting and promoting Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, ensuring stability and scalability across systems.
Required skills:
Experience with at least one of the big cloud providers, but preferably GCP.
Proficiency in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline management, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform, and cloud infrastructure automation.
Experience working with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver, or Datadog to ensure system health and performance.
Experience of containerization and orchestration tools.
Expertise in troubleshooting and performance optimization, helping engineering teams resolve issues efficiently and improve the overall developer experience.
Experience with incident management processes and a proactive approach to preventing downtime and service interruptions.
Preferred skills:
Experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), preferably hands-on use of services like AppEngine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery.
Experience optimizing cloud resource usage and costs on GCP, with a focus on cost control and efficient infrastructure scaling.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and how to build, manage, and scale services in a cloud-native environment.
Proficiency in automation scripting using languages like Python, Bash, or similar to create reusable, scalable solutions.
A solid understanding of SRE principles and experience applying them to achieve operational excellence.
With your contributions at Brite Payments, you will continue to empower our engineering teams and deliver high-quality platforms, setting the foundation for our next phase of growth. Join us and be part of building something exceptional!
