We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Data Engineer with a passion for developing analytical solutions based on SAP data. In this role, you will play a key part in maximizing the value of the organization’s data assets, ensuring they are leveraged effectively to drive business success and deliver value to customers.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work with one of the world’s largest and most complex SAP BW installations, handling vast amounts of data. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with multiple stakeholders to optimize the utilization of SAP BW investments, ensuring scalability, and maintaining the robustness of the platform. You will deploy various analytical solutions not only within SAP BW but also across other SAP OLTP systems, utilizing a range of tools and technologies from leading platforms such as Microsoft and Google to meet stakeholder needs.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will bring strong leadership capabilities, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust. You will work closely with product area leadership and engineering teams to align strategies and achieve key objectives. Your deep understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices, combined with Scrum Master experience, will empower you to drive Agile development processes effectively.

Key Responsibilities

– Develop and implement analytical solutions using SAP BW and other related systems.

– Optimize data utilization and ensure the platform’s scalability and performance.

– Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.

– Coach and mentor team members through programming sessions, solution presentations, and problem-solving discussions.

– Work in an Agile development environment, facilitating Scrum events and ensuring adherence to Agile principles.

– Drive DevOps practices to streamline development, deployment, and monitoring processes.

– Utilize a wide range of tools, including Microsoft and Google products, to fulfill analytical requirements.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess

– At least 10 years of experience in SAP BW development.

– Proven track record of at least three full lifecycle implementations in SAP BW or BW/4HANA, with strong experience in HANA modeling.

– Extensive experience working with SAP BW Retail scenarios, including data sources such as:

– General Ledger and Billing (SAP ECC)

– Inventory Management (SAP ECC)

– POS data (SAP CAR)

– Warehouse transactions (SAP EWM)

– Proficiency in frontend analytics using SAP Analytics Cloud and Power BI.

– Experience working with SAP Datasphere, CDS Views-based data modeling, and data integration for SAP BW.

– Strong understanding of Data Volume Management, with project experience in handling large data volumes.

– Hands-on experience with Integrated Planning/BPC in SAP BW.

– Demonstrated ability to work in an Agile team setup, contributing across multiple tasks to meet sprint commitments and team goals.

– Strong facilitation skills for Scrum events, ensuring effective team collaboration and progress tracking.

– Ability to coach and guide team members, promoting Agile values and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

– Several years of experience as a Data Engineer, with deep knowledge of modern engineering practices.

– Advanced skills in SAP data analytics, with a broad understanding of analytical capabilities within the SAP ecosystem.

– Previous experience as a Scrum Master, driving Agile transformation and development within cross-functional teams.

– Familiarity with various Agile frameworks and associated tools.

– Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in English; Swedish language skills are an advantage.

– Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and translate them into actionable solutions.
