Erasteel is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our agile team focused on building robust data solutions that drive insights and innovation. JOB DESCRIPTION

Erasteel is a leading producer of Powder Metallurgy High-Speed Steel for high performance tooling and components. As our new Senior data Engineer you will have the Opportunity to shape the data engineering and analytics practices in a small, dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Azure Synapse Pipelines: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Synapse.
• Data Visualization: Build and optimize data models and Power BI reports to support business intelligence needs.
• Data Science Support: Collaborate on data science projects, focusing on data preparation, feature engineering, and modeling.
• SQL Expertise: Utilize advanced SQL skills for data manipulation, optimization, and integration tasks across large datasets.
• Storage Account & Data Lake: Leverage advanced knowledge of Azure Storage Account and Data Lake for efficient data storage, management, and integration.
• CI/CD Pipeline Management: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing, using Azure DevOps.
• Azure Functions: Maintain the existing Azure Functions (.Net & PowerShell) and enhance them if needed.
• Code Quality and Standards: Establish and enforce coding best practices, ensuring maintainability, scalability, and performance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Workflow Optimization: Troubleshoot and optimize data workflows to ensure reliability and efficiency.

YOUR PROFILE

Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minimum of 10 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Applied Mathematics. Experience in a similar role within a small or startup environment is preferred.

If you are a senior full-stack developer with a strong interest in data engineering—demonstrated through recent projects or certifications—and substantial experience with Azure or AWS, we encourage you to apply. Technical Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and related tools.
• Proficiency in SQL with a track record of writing efficient, maintainable, and complex queries.
• Experience in data preparation, cleaning, and modeling to support data science projects.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R for ETL/ELT and data science tasks.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.

Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with other Azure services like Key Vault, Data Factory or Databricks. Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.

Soft skills: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying challenges and opportunities in the data ecosystem.

Language skills: Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
