We are looking for a Project Director leading the biggest development programs we have at Powertrain Engineering. We have a set of major industrialization programs initiated to update our HD Powertrain Portfolio and you will lead one of the biggest.

What you will do

Imagine you are in the driver seat when it comes to develop the future powertrain platform. Your day at work will be versatile, you will stretch from strategic discussions, via operational decisions, to coach and guide colleagues. Next day is not as the day before. You will work in a truly global context with many connections across the globe. If you want to be in the center of gravity and together with competent colleagues and take our engines and gearboxes to a sustainable future this is the job for you.

Responsibilities

• You will lead the cluster of projects for the major HD-Powertrain update initiated.
• You will guide & coach involved project members.
• You will report the progress of the cluster in the decision governance defined.

Who are you?

You have a well-developed strategic mindset, and you are strong leader with a holistic mindset in everything you do. We expect that you have solid background from the automotive industry and knowledge about powertrain development is a strong merit. You drive strategic decisions aligned with organizational goals. Since this is a senior position, you will also lead, and coach project members involved in the cluster of projects you are responsible for. Collaboration is a key to our success, and you master collaboration both vertically and horizontally across the organization borders. You demonstrate leadership courage and owners’ mentality with a strong drive for results. Today’s business environment is ambiguous, and you have the skills to navigate complex programs under those conditions.

In this position you will get a unique opportunity to build an extensive network across a large range of functions within Volvo. You will have an opportunity to work with deliveries which have a direct impact to the bottom-line result of Volvo group. Qualifications in short:

• You are holding minimum a master’s degree in engineering.
• You have extensive experience from leading and organizing big projects and programs.
• You are well experienced in the field of automotive product development, with good understanding of Powertrain system integration.
